We are looking for a talented Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team specializing in accounting/financial analysis for our corporate segment in Memphis, TN

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensures completion of account reconciliation and analysis, journal entry preparation and data entry. Completes the month-end close process. Performs activities under minimal supervision.

  • Compiles, consolidates, and conducts analysis of accounting and finance information.

  • Prepares standard journal entries that require analysis.

  • Performs more complex monthly and annual account reconciliations.

  • Prepares tables, charts and other exhibits for reports.

  • May perform complex accounting projects or participate as a team member on complex projects.

  • Performs ad hoc reporting requests as needed.

Financial Internal Controls - Leverages internal control framework by assessing internal controls and developing remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks and respond to changing business needs.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.


Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Work Description & Key Responsibilities

  • Provides analytical support as a member of the accounts payable team

  • Supports Cummins shared services center with investigation and resolution of invoices needing error resolution

  • Research and resolve unvouchered receipts to ensure proper and timely payments

  • Manage GRNI and assist in proper in transit reporting

  • Resolves moderately complex accounts payable issues and problems.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with other Finance disciplines and work teams.

  • Candidates must have a distinct interest in general accounting and financial analysis work.

  • Must have experience in Inter-Company A/P, A/R and related functions.

  • Attention to Details – The ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in data, monitor processes, concentrate on routine work details and organize and maintain records.

  • Problem Solving Skills – Ability to understand issues while using reason and judgment to solve problems. Review facts and weigh options.

  • Strong PC Skills – Ability to utilize various desktop PC applications to analyze and present data. Intermediate MS Excel user required.

Compensation and Benefits

Based on experience the hourly pay range for this position is $26.08 - 32.60. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
