This is an exciting opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee for a Cost Accountant. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Responsible for conducting cost analyses to support management in making operating decisions.

  • Develops and conducts basic cost audits and cost analyses.

  • Assists with capital budgeting reviews.

  • Analyzes cost variances, determines root causes, and prepares recommendations and alternatives for improvements for review by supervisor.

  • Identifies data analysis needs, and works with appropriate departments to obtain the data on a regular basis.

  • Prepares analyses and drafts presentation materials for review by supervisor.

  • Assists in the inventory valuation process.


Skills and Experience Required:


2 years post education experience

Experience and additional job duties:

Minimal relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.Responsible for Product Line Analysis & Common Costing as well as overseeing the cycle count program.

Responsible for month end close: preparing and completing all the journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and inventory reporting.

Perform material usage variance and cost savings analyses.

Assists with preparation of analysis of capital projects and continuous monitoring of spending against CAPEX and capitalizing capital projects.

Ad hoc reporting as needed.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
