Policy and Controls Manager

We are looking for a talented Policy and Controls Manager to join our Cummins Filtration team. In this position you will work with the business and others in Finance to identify, describe, resolve, consult and document complex accounting issues and transactions. This is a hybrid position. You are required to be in office 2 days a week.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Assist in the development and manages execution of annual control plan.

  • Reviews identification of business risks and opportunities for improvement in safeguarding company assets and business operations.

  • Reviews internal control documentation (i.e. process maps, flowcharts, control matrices) to ensure documentation is current and processes are designed in accordance with company requirements.

  • Accounting Policy to provide guidance on developing internal controls and application of policies and address internal control deficiencies and accounting issues.

  • Develops and provides internal control training to provide guidance to business on internal controls and company policies.

  • Manages, coaches, and mentors professional staff to develop skills and capabilities and provides continuous feedback.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Technical Accounting Assessment - Evaluates and researchestransactions in accordance with accounting regulations to ensure recorded incompliance with accounting regulations and company policies.

  • Technical Accounting Documentation - Summarizes technicalaccounting assessments by documenting accounting requirements, considerationsand conclusions in accounting memos to communicate assessment results tointernal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinates activities of third-party service provider ofinternal control testing work.

  • Prepares and leads technical accounting trainings specific to the business unit.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting required.

Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor or related certification required.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinates activities of third-party service provider ofinternal control testing work.

Serves as a point of contact to help with complex accounting questions, issues and transactions.

Prepares and leads technical accounting trainings specificto the business unit.

Participates on project teams for ensuring timely Cummins Filtration implementation of new U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles requirements including identifying all areas of the business that will beimpacted by the changes, monitors timeline for implementation.

Works on ad hoc projects in conjunction with finance systemimprovements or control initiatives.

Qualifications and Competencies:

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
