Our Distributions Business Unit helps Cummins by providing outstanding support to our customers.
This is an exciting opportunity in Portland, OR for a PFR/FP&A Senior Financial Analyst. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Prepare complex and interpretive financial analysis and reports. Support the annual budget process, expense and/or staffing forecasts and statistical reporting.
Prepare complex financial analysis and reports for department management.
Prepare analysis, reports, and special studies for management.
Work with assigned organizational unit(s) to develop annual budgets, expense and staffing forecasts, and statistical reporting.
Prepare statistical reporting, including financial performance, variance explanations, and cost analysis.
Coach less-experienced Financial Analysts.
Following the close of each monthly accounting period, prepare necessary financial statements and analysis reports used by the Company management within prescribed schedules.
Respond to a variety of requests for ad hoc analyses to assist Company management and personnel with initiatives to improve financial performance in a variety of areas.
Assist with gathering and analyzing information needed for preparing monthly updates to financial statement forecasts used by Company management.
Assist with the development of the Annual Operating Plan financial statement projections and gathering necessary information from various operations and sales business leaders to ensure the forecasts are consistent with the Company’s key initiatives and market conditions.
Aid employees with understanding financial and operational reports and participate in developing improvements to existing and new reports through the Company’s Information Systems and Telecommunications Department and sponsored information systems.
Assist with efforts to develop and improve reporting for evaluating the Company’s engine, power generation equipment, parts, and service businesses.
Prepare data for monthly reporting packages for assessing financial performance used by the Company’s managers responsible for the engine, power generation equipment, parts, and service business lines.
Respond to questions about monthly financial reports from Company and personnel.
Prepare necessary commentaries and explanations of financial performance relative to the Annual Operating Plan and forecast updates and perform necessary research to develop sound understanding of variances and trends affecting the Company’s income statement and balance sheet.
Skills and Experience Required:
Advanced Excel skills (use of formulas, reporting, pivot tables, data manipulation, etc.)
Experience in Finance and Accounting (FP&A/PFR preferred)
Proven performance in managing multiple workstreams
Ability to work cross-functionally and with business stakeholders
Thinks critically and provides suggestions and feedback on work and ideas
Experience in gathering data across systems and compiling into usable reporting
At least 3 years of experience performing reporting, forecasting, and variance analyses.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
