This is an exciting opportunity in Rocky Mount, North Carolina for an Accounting Manager. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Responsible for developing and implementing accounting practices and procedures.
Manages a team engaged in collecting, recording, analyzing, and reporting accounting transactions.
Plans, reviews, and/or prepares internal and external reports, schedules, and statements.
Oversees the account reconciliation process.
Reviews and monitors financial controls.
Participates in, and responds to internal audits.
Provides and interprets data from accounting records as required by management.
Coordinates accounting services and integrates with operating needs.
Oversees the management of functions such as property records, general ledger, and general accounting services.
Coaches and mentors general accounting staff; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, mentor, and motivate accounting teams.
Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of accounting software reporting.
Proven ability to both lead and work within a team environment.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to work and collaborate with various stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
Solid organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
Minimum eight to ten years of experience in an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller role.
Minimum three years in managing accounting teams.
Previous experience in a global, matrix, manufacturing environment highly preferred.
Experience with cost accounting an asset.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required. Master degree or MBA preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
