Our Distribution Business Unit in Europe consists of a distributor and dealer support network. They deliver reliable sales and service of durable and high performing engine, generator set and aftermarket products to our regionally based (global) partners. This is an exciting opportunity in Madrid for a Finance Manager to join the Finance team managing the financial reporting, statutory accounts, VAT returns, month-end process and internal procedures whilst managing one other accountant. This opportunity will enable you to develop your experience, influence the team and improve processes to grow Cummins further. This is a pivotal role.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Internal and external reporting

  • Preparing annual statutory accounts

  • Responsibility for the accounting and accurate financial record keeping under Spanish GAAP and for the monthly US GAAP financial closing of the Spanish legal entity.

  • Month-end procedure including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow

  • Analysis of P&L and providing commentary to the Regional Financial Controller

  • General Ledger accounting

  • Posting journals

  • Preparation of VAT returns and Transfer Pricing documentation

  • Managing 1 direct report

  • Working with multiple auditors to ensure compliance of the entity

  • Establishing efficient processes in Finance

  • Stakeholder engagement across the distribution site especially within sales

  • Small amount of travelling to the UK twice a year


Skills and Experience Required:

  • International experience as you will be working with UK and USA

  • Financial and Statutory reporting

  • Month-end reporting and analysis

  • Experience with improving processes and internal controls

  • Leadership skills

  • Stakeholder management

  • Excel skills including pivot tables and look ups

  • Fluent in English and Spanish is essential

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • University degree

  • Accountancy degree (ACCA, CPA) desired
